RECIPES: COYOTE COFFEE

Steve’s every morning get-up-and-go beverage. It can be varied based on what is at hand and how the day is panning out so far…

 

Ingredients:

1 heaping teaspoon instant espresso

1 Tablespoon Ovaltine (the version in Asian markets contains no sugar)

2oz boiling water

¼ tsp cinnamon (or to taste)

Milk to taste

Procedure:  

Mix dry ingredients together in a small cup and stir with boiling water into a thick chocolate coffee syrup. Add to a chilled tall glass of ice and fill with milk. Makes one serving.

Other additions include ½ tsp cocoa, peanut powder or maca powder, a dash of sage tequila, Sailor Jerry’s or Old Tub, or a pinch of mild or spicy chili powder.

Do not drink more than one Coyote Coffee in a day. One is enough.
